Nabou Claerhout & Jeroen Verberne
Water Day meets Leuven Jazz
Press
We reunite two trombonists on our stage. These virtuosos got to know each other back in 2015 at the Dutch National Youth Jazz Orchestra, where they laid the foundations for their special friendship.
Nabou Claerhout is by now an indispensable part of the Flemish jazz scene. She won the Young Jazz Talent Contest and shone during the digital edition of Leuven Jazz 2021 alongside Lynn Cassiers on a musical blind date. On Friday 18 March, as the leading lady of the much-talked-about project NΔBOU, she will perform in a double bill with Lakecia Benjamin.
Jeroen Verberne has been active for years in the best music scenes in the Netherlands and stands out as a trombonist in bands like Gallowstreet and Chef'Special.
The two of them stretch the possibilities of their instrument as their worlds converge. They complement each other's improvisations and push each other to their musical limits. Expect trombones as you have never heard them before.
