An occasional trio in the capable hands of Leuven double bass player Cyrille Obermüller.
Obermüller started playing the double bass when he was still a young boy. At the beginning of his musical career, he studied at the conservatories of Brussels, The Hague and the ‘Lemmensinstituut’ in Leuven. Afterwards, Obermüller continued his studies at the conservatory of Antwerp with Bo Van der Werf.
In a short time, he has become a high demanded bass player, as is evident from the long list of ensembles in which he is active: H A S T, Bruno Vansina Quartet, Casimir Liberski Trio, Ingi Bjarni Trio and collaborations with Mark Guiliana, Dré Pallemaerts, Peter Hertmans, Illuminine, ...
Obermüller played at festivals like Jazz Middelheim, Brussels Jazz Weekend, Reykjavik Jazz Festival, Leuven Jazz Festival and Flagey Jazz Festival. Next to that he still finds time to take care of the programming of 'La Conserve', the Leuven Center for Jazz and Improvised music, now based in Holsbeek.
