LG Jazz Collective
In this super group, guitarist Guillaume Vierset surrounds himself with some of the finest musicians from Wallonia and Flanders. Rooted in a classical jazz tradition, their accoustic sound doesn't need electronic 'tricks' but follows its own rules, and has a distinct feel of Liège to it.
The band has a modern take on modulation and definitely listened to trendsetters such as Ben Wendel, Gerald Clayton and Gilda Hekselman. Their new cd 'Strange Deal' could well be the ideal calling card to set of their international jazz career.
San Francisco may well have its SFJAZZ Collective, but Belgium has the LG Jazz Collective.
