Haven
The new quartet of drummer Yves Peeters brings its own interpretations of traditionals. Haven represents a meeting place for people with different nationalities and cultures, a place where traditional songs used to be played and passed on. ‘Haven’ means a place of refuge, which is something the power of music can provide as well.
with Erik Bogaerts (altsax), Marijke Hellemans (guitar), Yannick Peeters (contra bass) and Yves Peeters (drums)
Vansina Quartet
This quartet is a smaller version of Bruno Vansina’s 16-piece Orchestra. His loyal companions Teun Verbruggen and Kobe Proesmans continue to form an impressive rhythmic machine, strengthened by newcomer Cyrille Obermüller. The compositions have mostly been written by Bruno Vansina. His repertoire is usually created intuitively with a focus on rhythmic elements. His compositions range from exotic and meditative to dark and dreamy, but always deeply rooted in jazz.
