40 Years Igloo Records
!!CHANGE OF PLANS!!
On March 12th, we received the unfortunate news that Philip Catherine, one of the two leaders in this project, suffered a serious fall-related injury. He will therefore be unable to perform for several weeks.
Philip hopes to be present next Sunday to cheer on the band, but he will be replaced on stage by the young guitar virtuoso Lorenzo Di Maio (4in1, Sal La Rocca, Fabrice Alleman …).
Led by pianist Éric Legnini and in the company of drummer Antoine Pierre, trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart and bass player Thomas Bramerie he will pay tribute to saxophone legend Jacques Pelzer, and Philip Catherine!
This evening also features the support concert by Elina Duni & Rob Luft and some exclusive re-releases on vinyl, such as the debut album by Melanie De Biasio.
It will definitely be a birthday party in style!
Support: Elina Duni & Rob Luft
Swiss-Albanian singer Elina Duni (ECM) combines traditional Albanian folk songs and jazz. For this new project, she is joined by guitarist Rob Luft, acclaimed as one of the rising stars of London's flourishing contemporary jazz scene. Luft's playing incorporates echoes of West African high-life, English folk and indie rock, and his joyously original sound finds an ideal counterpart in Elina Duni's vocals. Together, they take you on a journey through timeless folk songs which still resonate so truly today.
Extra: lecture Marc Van den Hoof
Prior to both concerts, former radio presenter Marc Van den Hoof will focus on Charlie Christian, one of the icons of the jazz guitar.
