Fred Hersch | Leuven Jazz

American pianist Fred Hersch will be an artist in residence at this year's festival and he will play two exclusive concerts:

On Saturday, March 12th, he will bring his brand-new Trio album 'Breath by Breath', which was released early January and is already qualified as a new masterpiece. For this Belgian première, he will be accompanied by Clemens Van Der Feen (bass) and Jonas Burgwinkel (drums/percussion), as well as by the strings of the young Belgian Desguin Quartet. On Sunday, March 13th, you can enjoy Hersch' lyrical and melodic style in two exceptional duos:
He'll start off with a musical dialogue with Belgian pianist Bram De Looze, before inviting trumpeter Avishai Cohen for an enchanting encounter. (Sun 13.03, 30CC/Schouwburg)
