17.03 IMMANUEL WILKINS

To many jazz fans, the American saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins is the current reference on alto sax. He recently launched his second album 'The 7th Hand' on Blue Note and this release concert promises an enchanting combination of empathy and conviction, of melody and lament, of improvisation and composition.
The evening opens with a Belgian première of the Danish duo Svaneborg Kardyb, rising stars in the Nordic jazz scene, and we will conclude the evening with an aftershow by Eliott Knuets (guitar) + Basile Rahola (bass).

18.03 NΔBOU & MURIEL GROSSMANN

On Friday, March 18th, you're in for a double bill!
With her NΔBOU quartet, the young trombonist and composer Nabou Claerhout is a breath of fresh air on the Belgian jazz scene. They will present their first full album 'You Know' (2021).
The Belgian band ADJA, recent winners of the Soundtrack competition, will play an aftershow in the foyer.

19.03 TOOTS 100 & IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SWING

Saturday, March 19th, will also feature a double bill.
In collaboration with the Dutch harmonica player Hermine Deurloo, the LUCA Bigband will honour the 100th birthday of the Belgian jazz icon Toots Thielemans.
In the second set of the evening, singer Tutu Puoane and the Belgian Rebirth::Collective will get you swinging in with the repertoire of legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Louis Armstrong.
