WEDNESDAY MARCH 18TH > SUNDAY MARCH 22ND, 2015
‘Leuven Jazz’ used to be part of city festival ‘Kulturama’. As it grew in scope and ambition however, it became clear that the jazz festival was large enough to become its own proper festival. In 2013, the time had come to go solo.
Two editions later, visitors can discern the unique trifecta that makes ‘Leuven Jazz’ such a success: plenty of international stars, a healthy dose of local talent as well as a wide range of cultural activities closely related to jazz (such as jazz movies, jazz expos and jazz literature). During ‘Leuven Jazz 2015’, these core aspects will be at the forefront once more. Organizer 30CC and the numerous Louvanist jazz partners will see to that.
HEADLINERS EDITION 2015!
The first names are as follows:
- Greg Osby and Tineke Postma vs Plaistow (Thursday, March 19th)
- Jef Neve and Aaron Parks Quartet (Saturday, March 21st)
- Mulatu Astatke and GoGo Penguin (Sunday, March 22nd)
- And just as important: the international talent contest 'B-Jazz'.
The complete program, which will include plenty of cross-overs, will be announced in late January. ‘Leuven Jazz’ is organized by 30CC, in collaboration with Het Depot, AppeltuinJazz, MuziekMozaïek, STUK Café (Jazz on Sunday), Cinema ZED, de Bib Leuven, OPEK, MijnLeuven, Radio Scorpio, vzw Oude Markt and more.
The festival is sponsored by the province of Vlaams-Brabant, Stella Artois, De Streekkrant and De Zondag.
